Answer
📽️How do you Upload your Standard Chart of Accounts into the SCoA Mapper from QuickBooks Online
This how-to guide explains the steps for uploading a standard chart of accounts from QuickBooks Online into Autymate. By exporting the chart of accounts to an Excel file, deleting unnecessary rows and columns, and replacing specific account names with placeholder names, you can create a standardized chart of accounts for all franchisees. Once the Excel file is cleaned up, it can be imported into Autymate and mapped automatically to create a standardized chart of accounts. This guide provides a clear and concise set of instructions for franchise owners or managers looking to streamline their accounting processes and ensure consistency across all franchise locations.
- Login to your QuickBooks Online account.
- Go to the “Accounting” tab and select “Chart of Accounts”.
- Click on “Run Report” to generate a report of your chart of accounts.
- Click the “Export” button and select “Export to Excel” from the dropdown menu.
- Open the downloaded Excel file and delete any header rows or rows before the heading names.
- Also, delete the first blank column.
- It would be best if you now had your headings in the first row starting in the first column, which should be “account number,” “account name,” “account type,” and “detail type.”
- Replace any specific banking account names with placeholder names, such as “checking account XXX one,” “savings account XXX one,” and “credit card XXX one.”
- Replace any specific account names with placeholder names since this will be a standardized chart of accounts.
- Delete any specific accounts for the franchisee you do not want in your standard chart of accounts.
- Save the file to your desktop or downloads folder.
- Login to your Autymate account and go to the “Chart of Accounts” section.
- Click the “Import” button and select the Excel file you just saved.
- The system will automatically map the columns and fields, and you should see a data preview.
- Review the preview and make sure everything looks correct.
- Click on the “Import” button to upload the chart of accounts into Autymate.
- Once the import is complete, you can review and edit the chart of accounts in Autymate.
